Arch-style bridges are beautiful forms of architecture to look at especially during the sunset.
One of these types is the Buck O'Neil Bridge in Kansas City, which spans over the great Missouri River.
This bridge, which was opened for traffic back in September 1956, has allowed passage for millions of inhabitants in the city for over 66 years.
Even just looking at the bridge, you can immediately tell that this bridge has quite the history.
While the bridge is currently safe to pass through, the bridge is nearing the end of its projected lifespan.
The rehabilitation study of this bridge is ongoing and it may not be available for reuse if it is determined that this bridge can cost-effectively be rehabbed to meet the required purpose and need.
As of now, the new Buck O'Neil Bridge is in progress. I'm privileged to reminisce about this good old bridge before it disappears.
And as the light of the sunset is cast over this historic architectural wonder, one can't help but appreciate the strength and beauty of the Buck O'Neil Bridge.
